10 Things to Know BEFORE Having Your Car Repaired

  1. Never drive a car that could be unsafe because of damage, doing so may cause further damage or put you or other road users at risk.

  2. Your car is probably the second largest investment you're likely to make. Preserve its value and your safety now and into the future by having it repaired correctly by us at PARC.

  3. You have the right to go to the bodyshop of your choice. Some insurance companies may tell you that you must go to one of their "preferred" bodyshops, this is not the case. It's your car and your choice.

  4. Ask if the bodyshop offers a repair warranty. At PARC we provide you with a Five year warranty on all our accident repairs.

  5. Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all necessary work. If you're not sure why one estimate is different from another you've received, please ask us. Remember cheaper is not necessarily better.

  6. Ask if the bodyshop will be using genuine manufacturer replacement parts. Some estimates differ in price due to the quotation of non original or salvage parts instead or original manufacturer parts.

  7. At PARC we have over 25 years experience in the auto-repair industry, Let us use this experience to help you negotiate your claim with the insurance company. Remember we are working for you!

  8. Should your insurance policy carry a Excess you will be required to pay this amount directly to the bodyshop on collection of the completed vehicle. This Excess amount may differ from your standard Excess if a driver other than the policy holder was driving the car at the time of the incident.

  9. If you, as the policy holder or the owner of the vehicle, are registered for VAT purposes, the VAT content of any insurance claim invoice is payable directly to the bodyshop by you. You will be provided with an invoice for the VAT amount, which may then be reclaimed in the normal manner on your next VAT return.

  10. If the repair cost is being claimed from an Insurance Company upon completion of the repair, you will have to sign a Collection Note, your copy doubles as our written guarantee to you. This is to confirm to the Insurance Company that the repairs have been carried out and the completed vehicle has been returned to you.
Signing this form does not affect your statutory rights.
